HYC Update #35

Weight: 116.5

Well that's a loss of 6 lbs this week. This maintenance thing is hard! I know I'm not eating enough but I'm scared to eat more and gain weight. I also have been avoiding the gym like the plague.

Also, I hate Valentine's Day and I hate love!
Stupid Day.

HYC Update #34

Weight: 122.5 lbs

A gain of 0.5 lbs since last week. Could it be this "maintenance" I've heard so much about? As you can see by my sidebar, I have been in the 120s since mid-December with normal fluctuations. So far, so good. I still haven't been working out at all, which is having a terrible effect on my mood. But I am very happy with the weight I am. I would like to be more toned and strong, but I'm not in any big rush. "Swimsuit season" is not on the horizon. It is horrific and cold here.

Sorry I've been so boring recently, I will have more to say soon I'm sure. School's been rough but I'm feeling pretty positive.

HYC Update #33

Weight: 122

That's up 3.5 lbs since last week, which is ideal since I was getting a little low. I still haven't been gymming because of snowpocalypse 2011 and excessive schoolwork/laziness. And I've been eating poorly. All this cold snowy greyness is getting to me. Maybe I'm getting that Seasonal Affective Disorder. I can't wait for the mountains of snow to melt so I can run outside again. It doesn't look like it'll be soon.

Hope it's warm where you are!

HYC Update #32

Weight: 118.5 lbs

What the what?? I lost 5 lbs this week. I was really bad and didn't go to the gym all week. I suspect I am losing muscle. My clothes are fitting about the same. I am going to get back to the gym ASAP, I've been hesitant to go due to weather/motivational/personal issues. It's stormy right now, both weather-wise and romantically speaking.

I would like to emphasize that I am 5'5" and do not feel the need or desire to weigh under 120 lbs. I am not worried though, I suspect that this is temporary and I will have the opposite problem the rest of my life so I might as well enjoy it while I can.

HYC Update #31

Weight: 123.5 lbs

That's 1.5 lbs lost for the week and is pretty reasonable despite having weighed 121 lbs yesterday AM. I ate a lot yesterday. Drat.

Okay, gotta get to school, I slept like crap but I'm thinking of breaking up with my boyfriend today so that'll be fun. Goals for this week: lift those weights! I have to wear a fancy dress to an even Saturday so I want to look great.

Hope you all had a great week!

Reaching new lows

First of all, welcome all my new followers, you guys are awesome and I hope all your weight loss dreams come true!

Now my weight has been going through all sorts of craziness since I started weight training at the gym/had a 3-wk vacation/made some poor food choices. Last night I cooked a delicious vegan seitan stew, for which I can't really tell you the recipe, because I made it up, and also this amazing side dish that I WILL tell you the recipe for, because it was AWESOME.

Vegan Soyrizo Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe

5 smallish-medium white potatoes or the equivalent volume of whatever potato you like, cut into chunks
1 head garlic and a splash of olive oil
12 oz (1 package) soy chorizo (in the tofu section of your grocer's refrigerated case)
2T Smart Balance margarine
1/2 cup original flavor rice milk
Salt

First, I like to leave the peel on the potato because I am lazy. Put the potatoes in a big pot of boiling water. While that's happening, peel the outer layers off your garlic head, but leave the skins of the cloves intact and the whole head in one piece. Chop off the top 1/2 inch of the head, so you can see the cloves. Place cut-side up on a piece of tin foil, drizzle with oil, completely wrap in foil and roast at 400 in your oven (or in my case, toaster oven) for 30 min. When it comes out, let it cool a little, then squeeze the cloves out and mush them with a fork a bit. By now your potatoes should be done.

When your potatoes are soft, mash them. Add Soyrizo, garlic, rice milk, margarine and salt to taste (you will need less salt than usual because soyrizo is salty). Enjoy! This makes a ton of food, which I later had to heat up and I added a bit more milk and margarine so it wouldn't dry out.

Anyway, I got away from the point of this post which is that today I weigh 121.5 lbs, which is my lowest recorded or rememberable adult weight, last reached on 3/08. This is despite lots of the aforementioned stew and mashed potatoes, and vegan desserts. I did gym hard though, lest you think that I just eat whatever I want and get all skinny. Anyhow, I'm perfectly happy with that weight and could be it forever. Maintenance is not as fun as losing weight but it's nice to get to eat (A LITTLE) more.

Okay, sorry for the ramble, see you cats on Tues.

HYC Update #30

Weight: 125 lbs

Not bad! I'm down 4 lbs from my last check-in, which is to be expected since I generally quickly lose weight I've put on very quickly. At least I'm further away from the scary 130s, which I vowed to never see again for all of 2011 and the rest of time.

My weight-lifting regimen is going great, we'll see how it does during this new semester (it started yesterday). Hopefully my 2lb gain from my lowest weight is pure muscle and sexiness. My clothes are fitting well so I'm going to assume that's true.

Yesterday my friend offered to take me to my favorite vegan restaurant to celebrate a good grade I got in one of my classes (yay!) and he ended up getting out of work too late. I was so disappointed and had been saving up my calories all day in anticipation. But I calmly had a low-cal frozen dinner instead (I know, gross, but #1: it was Amy's and #2: I have no food in my house). It was an accomplishment because in the past or even normally I'd have eaten everything I could find.

Goals for this week: A real pushup on my toes! (probably not). I'd like to lose those 2 lbs again just so it doesn't forever tarnish my reputation. And get As on all the rest of my exams. Amen.
